Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) seeks to hire an individual with expertise in UI-UX design to help map RCAP’s Open for Business customer journey for the next phase of development for the Open for Business Hub, a digital platform that helps rural entrepreneurs access free technical assistance and training to help launch and grow their small business: www.openforbusiness.rcap.org. About RCAP RCAP is a national network of nonprofit partners that works to ensure that small, rural, and Tribal communities across the United States have access to safe drinking water, wastewater, solid waste disposal, and economic prosperity through direct technical assistance, training, and financial assistance in the smallest communities across the country, many of which are low income. RCAP operates a national model with a local approach, utilizing its six regional partners to work directly in thousands of rural and Tribal communities each year. Last year, RCAP served more than 3.4 million rural and Tribal residents, with a median household income of just over $38,000, half of the national average. Learn more at: https://www.rcap.org/ The Challenge With training and consulting services provided by RCAP’s network of six partners, each with their own brand identity and onboarding processes for clients, the current experience for a business engaging with our services can be confusing. On the backend, business registrations and data collection are managed in different locations, by different partners, for different services (e.g. e-learning courses, webinars and one-to-one consulting). Moving forward it will be essential to establish a more streamlined user experience for businesses signing up for the hub’s various services to ensure they are directed to the right provider and suite of services in a timely manner, as well as improved workflows and data collection on the backend for a lean team with different levels of expertise, working across different organizations, tech platforms and geographies. Scope of Work Self-Assessment Tool Development – Mapping the User Experience The goal of this activity is to develop a Journey Map of RCAP’s client onboarding process, which will serve as the basis for a self-assessment tool for the Open for Business business consulting team. RCAP seeks to contract a UI/UX designer to begin the process of mapping our coaching process to develop a self-assessment tool and roadmap to help batch clients into different categories with different needs that then helps limit the amount of onboarding work consultants are doing, while helping our organization onboard new staff faster, and connect entrepreneurs more quickly with needed resources. The final deliverables will include the customer journey map, a product roadmap and budget for the development of the self-assessment tool. Anticipated activities: - Facilitate an initial discovery / kick-off meeting with RCAP’s program, communications, and IT teams to confirm tech requirements and existing assets available to ensure that solutions are integrated into RCAP’s organizational management structure and capabilities from the outset. - Review existing journey maps and process docs of the client onboarding process to inform approach and gaps in information. - Review of current website and user experience, including engagement with existing eighteen (18) online courses. -Interviews with business consultants, entrepreneurs, and program managers using the platform to understand their needs and experiences. Mapping of client onboarding process - Development of Self-Assessment Tool based on client on-boarding journey map that can automate the initial steps of RCAP’s client on-boarding process. - Create product roadmap and budget for the development of the Self-Assessment tool. Our goal is to have this work completed by mid-October (2022) at the latest. Our budget limit for this project is $6,500.
