The goal is to accelerate dimensional polyline creation and analysis for layout and construction documentation within AutoCAD, thus improving efficiency and accuracy in your drafting process. My Approach: I will develop the plugin with the following key functionalities: Polyline Creation and Segment Identification: The tool will allow the user to click points in sequence to form a polyline with only horizontal and vertical segments, ensuring ease of use and accuracy. Dimensional Labeling: Each segment’s length will be dynamically displayed in feet/inches format (e.g., 10'-5"), positioned near the endpoint for easy reading. Sequential Numbering: Every endpoint of the polyline will be numerically labeled in sequence, providing a clear visual reference for your workflow. Dynamic Polyline Length Tracking: As segments are added, a running total of the polyline length will be continuously displayed next to the drawing area, providing real-time feedback. Integration with AutoCAD Workflow: I will ensure seamless integration with AutoCAD’s existing environment, ensuring the tool is intuitive and doesn’t disrupt your drafting workflow.
