I seek an experienced proofreader to refine the historical details within a manuscript focusing on the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. The non-fiction work examines the socio-political factors that contributed to Rome's emergence as a dominant global power as well as the influences that precipitated its eventual decline. Considering the importance of accurately portraying this seminal period in world history, the ideal candidate will possess expert familiarity with Roman emperors, government structures, military campaigns, cultural practices and other significant events from 750 BC to 476 AD.
The individual chosen for this role will carefully review each chapter multiple times to detect any chronological blunders, factual inconsistencies, spelling/grammatical errors or imprecise terminology relating to Roman customs, religion, politics and daily life. Corrections will be suggested using tracked changes within Microsoft Word documents. Knowledge of Latin names and terms is preferable. The candidate should have the ability to cross-check reference details against authoritative sources. Attention to detail and flawless proofreading skills are essential to fulfil the objective of achieving an error-free, enlightening manuscript about the rise and transformation of the once-mighty Roman Empire.
