Edit Perfex CRM to Show When Tickets are Awaiting Response

We are currently using Perfex CRM to manage our customers. One issue we have is within the left menu it does not show us if there is a ticket etc needing to be responded to. We are looking for a simple dot within the folder to show a message needs responding to ie status pending.
Ideally Red for Tickets and Green for Whatsapp.
This can either be in the code or a module so it wont be affected by updates.
I have attached Image for reference.
