I need help with designing my terrace aviary extension to accomodate peacocks and ducks along with my other birds, rabbits and hens.
The aim of this project is to design and construct a functional and aesthetically pleasing enclosure for peacocks and ducks on a terrace measuring 87 cm (12 feet and 8 1/2 inches) in width. The enclosure will ensure ample space for both species while addressing specific concerns such as space allocation, cleaning, water drainage, and weather protection.
The terrace currently allows for a width of 12 feet 8 1/2 inches and 22 feet 2 inches length, with an additional area of 7 feet 7 inches allocated for extension.
The cage height must be extended to give all the birds ample vertical space to fly.The design will include separate doors for the peacocks and ducks. This will help prevent overcrowding during feeding times and allow easy access for caretaking.
A rainwater management solution must be implemented to address existing issues. Drainage channels or sloping surfaces will be installed to prevent water accumulation, ensuring the enclosure remains dry and sanitary.
A comprehensive cleaning system will be designed to make maintenance easy and efficient, reducing the buildup of dirt and preventing foul odors. A cupboard must be installed at the side of the entrance of the enclosure to store bird food, cleaning supplies, and other essentials, keeping the space organized yet accessible.
Durable metal or weather-resistant materials should be used for the frame to ensure longevity. Strong netting will secure the area while allowing for ventilation.Prevention of water stagnation to make cleaning easier.A waterproof, UV-protected tent sheet should cover the enclosure to safeguard the birds from harsh weather and prevent rain entering the cage from the entrance one side.
In short, this terrace enclosure will create a safe and pleasant space for peacocks and ducks, meeting all functional and aesthetic requirements. It will be designed for easy maintenance, effective water drainage, and long-term durability, ensuring the birds have a comfortable, clean, and well-protected environment.
