About the job:

As an engineering manager, you will guide your team through excellent, in-depth technical leadership, effective coaching and mentoring, precise project management and execution, and open and honest cross-team collaboration to reach new levels that exceed our customer expectations.
This is a highly visible opportunity in our integration group that requires an excellent ability to manage all aspects of a team and its roadmap, and a strong hands-on attitude to support the technical decision making. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are fundamental to success in this role. You will oversee all aspects of software development and architecture on your team. You will guide the architecture and framework evaluation, break down requirements into executable development units, and execute the actual software implementation. You will oversee the delivery of your software to our production environment and support it. You will help your team members to reach their development goals and develop sustainable relationships across the entire organization.
Taulia is looking for an engineering manager who:

 
Is excited to lead a high-velocity team in an agile startup environment with a solid sense of ownership.
 
Is able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and can convey the communication transparently to the team.
 
Can lead and coordinate efforts of a cross-functional, geographically-distributed team.
 
Is able to organize the workload of the team and able to break down vague requirements into executable units of work.
 
Can contribute hands-on writing elegant, maintainable, reusable code.
 
Work in core components within the SAP BTP cloud that include integration workflows, persistence, meta-data model, object model framework, customization framework, and UI frameworks.
 
Works closely with quality assurance engineers to define test cases and test plans.
 
Is ready to step up to do whatever is necessary, at all tiers, to scale our global cloud platform without waiting for assignments.
 
Has a strong affinity to improve productivity and wants to protect the achievement.
 
Is always looking for new and better ways of doing things - continuous integration, test automation and deployment are second nature to you.
 
Keeps things realistic. Solve challenging problems and – more importantly – help avoid them.

Competencies and Qualifications:

 
8+ years of software development experience on large scale applications, high-volume SaaS applications.
 
2+ years of experience leading development teams successfully.
 
Experience with distributed transactions in financial and supply chain management systems with a proven track record of building and deploying these applications in the cloud.
 
Strong core Groovy and/or Java language experience.
 
Experience with database concepts and skills, preferably with SAP Hana, Sybase, and PostgresQL.
 
Understands enterprise design and system integration patterns.
 
Experience with TDD methodologies and a good understanding of the development lifecycle in an agile environment.
 
Experience with REST web services and modern APIs.
 
Familiarity with event and messaging-based architecture, and related technologies.
 
Comfortable being on-call to support the applications you own all the way to production.

Nice to Have:

 
Experience in configuration of adapters such as JMS, sFTP, SOAP, IDOC, web services, and iFlows.
 
Experience in Maven, microservices (Angular, Spring Boot), OData, Sybase, BTP, SAP Cloud Integration, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, and Cloud Native.
 
Experience building Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or other financial software.
