About the role 🎉
We are looking for an experienced Staff iOS Engineer to help us build AI-powered mobile applications. As part of this key role, you’ll get to lead the technical direction and mentor engineers to develop Runway’s next-generation creative tools on mobile devices.
You’ll be working closely with our design and product teams to build robust applications with great user experience. We’re looking for someone who is deeply interested in building AI-powered products, and has extensive experience building high performance iOS applications.
What you’ll do 🎨
Implement new product features for Runway’s AI-based content creation tools
Set the technical direction on upcoming mobile application projects and initiatives
Mentor engineers on the best practices and latest advancement in iOS
Improve the performance, reliability, and code quality of our codebases
Work with a world-class engineering and design team pushing the boundaries of creativity and content creation on mobile app
Contribute to product discussions around our mobile app experiences
5+ years of experience building iOS applications with Swift and/or Objective-C
Strong experience with iOS SDK frameworks, including best practices for UI, networking, graphics rendering, logging and profiling
Deep understanding of iOS design guidelines
Knowledge of the latest advancements in iOS (frameworks, tools, third-party libraries)
Strong collaboration skills and interest in mentoring other engineers
Ability to rapidly prototype solutions and iterate on them with tight product deadlines
Have an app on the App Store, iOS open-source framework, or example project on GitHub

The range shared below is a general expectation for the function as posted, but we are also open to considering candidates who may be more or less experienced than outlined in the job description. In this case, we will communicate any updates in the expected salary range.
Lastly, the provided range is the expected salary for candidates in the U.S. Outside of those regions, there may be a change in the range, which again, will be communicated to candidates.
Salary range: $190,000-$210,000
