Areas of Focus
Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and content requirements
Translate complex information into simple, polished and engaging content
Research, outline, write and edit high-quality content that is appropriate for its intended audience
Write easy-to-understand tutorials for end users in the form of articles and video
Create written and video content showcasing new features for a range of audiences and platforms
Maintain and update current content to be in line with the most recent release notes
Contribute to the development of the key messages for the company
Contribute to technical and business content that will be used as outreach, presentations and talking points for executives
Competencies
Proven working experience in technical writing
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and images
Excellent written skills in English
Experience creating video content
Working with a remote team to ensure deadlines are met
Good communicator
Attention to detail whilst handling multiple projects simultaneously
Ideal Experience
Degree in journalism, communications or a relevant technical field
Awareness of Open Source companies and culture
Awareness of the Office document creation competitive landscape
Experience with FLOSS tools and/or the Linux Desktop
Experience working remotely
