Challenges You Will Solve

Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer and servicing business stakeholders, the Director, Business Information Systems will lead the transformation of Red Canary’s business data management while appropriately utilizing and optimizing the current technology in partnership with the Information Technology organizations. You will combine your business and technical acumen, business systems expertise, data governance experience, top shelf communications skills and managerial savvy to deliver sustainable value.

What You'll Do

  • Systems Focus:

  • Maintaining an accurate inventory and system architecture documentation of deployed technology

  • Providing requirements definition and solution research services to organizations seeking a technology solution

  • Evaluating all software procurement requests to ensure the title aligns with and will scale with business strategy, integrates with related tools, is accompanied by a compelling business case, is a good choice when compare with its competitors, meets Red Canary security and access control requirements, and does not duplicate functionality already deployed in the organization

  • Implementing system change controls (separation of duties for deploying changes) for critical systems

  • Partnering with the entire organization to forecast capacity changes and optimize SaaS spending

  • Managing vendor relations: monitoring, communicating,  and using new features, and facilitating feedback sessions with our CSMs to ensure we are maximizing on use of our software

  • Decommissioning solutions that are being replaced,

  • Supporting new technology rollout via system documentation, user training, and implementation project management.

  • Data Focus:

  • Evaluating and articulating the current state of  Red Canary data model

  • Ensuring consensus regarding our understanding of the model and the terms we use when talking about the data insights we seek

  • Identifying flaws in the implementation of the model, especially across system boundaries, and developing plans to rectify

  • Validating and certifying key analytics reports and dashboards, and

  • Designing and adopting controls around the model and systems to protect the integrity of Red Canary data

  • Functioning as the scribe for the Data Council and its working groups to capture recommendations, definitions and decisions made by the Council

  • Documenting current system state and performing gap analysis relative to the desired model,

  • Providing project management support for coordinating model related technical changes across systems

  • Developing and maintain a centralized database from which cross system analytics are derived

What You'll Bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Accounting or Operations and approximately 10+ years of related work experience; Master's degree a plus

  • Experience in managing comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) implementations; multi-system integration expertise is a must

  • Hands-on management of system support organization, including ticket prioritization and backlog curation

  • Managerial experience; player/coach mentality with an appetite for developing talent

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially around breaking down complex structures into digestible and relevant points for a diverse set of clients and colleagues, at all levels.

  • Effective collaborator capable of coordinating cross-functional resources to drive best in class solutions and business outcomes

Targeted base salary range: $151,000 - $201,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience.
