About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will help define and take the lead on executing towards our visionary product roadmap. You will be responsible for people, processes, and products.

What you'll do

Overall you will:

  • Drive the mission and direction, while building elegant, scalable solutions to make the people analytics experience for CPOs, people leaders, and entire organizations 100x more efficient

  • Ensure that each team member grows and feels confident in delivery

  • Empower your team by offering clear ownership of technical challenges.

  • Set expectations for team and individual success and take action when appropriate

  • Foster an inclusive environment through empathy, not just inside engineering, but across all the teams in Knoetic!

  • Advise the leadership team on key technical considerations related to the future of people analytics

  • Partner with Product Management and Design to find the best blend of quality, agility, and user experience.

Within your first week, you will:

  • Onboard and learn more about the company’s mission, culture, and values. 

  • Understand Knoetic's tech infrastructure at a very high level. We will pair you up with an onboarding buddy to help you get up to speed

  • Deploy your first Pull Request to the production. We move fast! :)

Within your first month, you will:

  • Participate in road mapping and architecture discussions

  • Pair the program with talented, ambitious engineers in a highly-collaborative team

  • Collaborate with the team which includes our product manager and product designer to deliver a low/medium-sized project

In three months, you'll be fully ramped! You will:

  • Lead a complex project from inception to deployment that will immediately provide value to our users

  • Identify, evaluate, and define improvements to the existing infrastructure and product

  • Lead performance review conversations and be mentoring and upleveling team members

What we're looking for

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

  • 6+ years working in large codebases - we currently have 30 repositories working with 4 programming languages

  • 2+ years leading complex projects from start to finish

  • 1+ years leading a team of 4+ Engineers

  • Familiarity with building modern web applications using our tech stack (NodeJS, Go, ReactJS, AWS, Kubernetes, SQL) but generally tech agnostic

  • You pride yourself on being able to identify and address issues before they become problems, and are skilled at finding signals in the noise

  • After each interaction with you, you have efficiently transferred information and we definitely understand your insights, plans, or thoughts

In compliance with New York City Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role, adjusted for level, is between $180,000-$200,000 in New York City. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including level, skillset, experience, job scope, location, and current market data. This range is not inclusive of our competitive equity package.
