Mechanical Drafter Detailer

Will be on the integration side, work with fabrication drawings from the model with just AutoCAD, give projections of the 3D model
Will still be part of discussions of the project and give their creative opinions!
The typical project starts with the development of a 3D model showing relevant building and process systems. The designer will model and place equipment, design connections, and identify relevant structural features. Typically, modeling is done with respect to a point cloud scan showing the existing environment. The designer will use the scan to minimize interferences and propose effective designs. As the project progresses, the designer will work with other disciplines and vendors to capture final equipment, structural designs, and finalize the model. They will produce detailed fabrication drawings for duct, chutes, and pipe.


Job Responsibilities:
-Design mechanical systems under the direction of technical engineers and other process experts. Primary duties are the layout of industrial plants in a 3D environment, creation of general arrangement drawings, and detailing of conveying, piping, and ducting systems.
-Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, plants and vendors to ensure solutions are being implemented to meet business needs and goals. Attend meetings and transform broad project needs into specific tasks.
-Collect information from drawing archives, the field, and technical engineers to create initial designs. Continue to work with the team and iterate as necessary.
-Check mechanical drawings, including checks against final vendor models and drawings by other disciplines. Ensure dimensional accuracy and clearance from interferences.
-Review project scopes and maintain a project plan identifying outstanding tasks and the current state of all drawing and models.
-Answer requests for information from vendors and production facilities. Troubleshoot as necessary.
-Assist in the creation and standardization of key project documents.


MUST HAVES:
-Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
-Proficient at developing 3D building layouts
-Proficient in AutoCAD 3D
-PLANT 3D a plus
-Experience creating general arrangement, fabrication, and pipe ISO drawings.
-Experience detailing and checking pipe, duct, and chute drawings.
-Familiarity with a continuous process manufacturing environment.
-Ideally, familiarity with dry powder handling, liquid processes, and material handling


PLUS HAVES:
-Experience working with point cloud scans
