Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Partner Manager to join our climateXchange project. This is a varied role focused on building an international network of newsroom and content partners for an exciting and ambitious initiative to change the way climate journalism works. Reporting to the Programme Director, the Partner Manager will act as the point of contact and advocate for partners throughout the programme.

The position is for an immediate start and is a remote role. This position is offered either as a full time staff position in the UK, (candidates must have the right to work in the UK), or as a self-employed role if outside the UK. Self-employed candidates must have the right to work in the country they are applying from and deliver work under the relevant self-employment laws in their location. You will need to ensure you have access to a suitable professional and confidential environment with a reliable internet connection to carry out your duties. Some travel will be required.

This position is a full time role with a significant proportion of the hours to be worked Monday to Friday within UK working hours. We'd love to discuss what working pattern would work for you. This is a fixed term contract ending 31st March 2024 . However, pending securing the required funding, we intend for this to become longer term.

The pay for this role is £42,358 per year for a UK based employee.  

Note: For international applicants, we use a location multiplier tool to help us work out a fair rate taking into account factors such as the local job market, related experiences, and parity across our team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage partner relationships, act as the first point of contact, facilitate collaboration between partners.

  • Develop the climateXchange network of newsroom partners and help them contribute to the objectives of the initiative.

  • Leverage existing networks to support the climateXchange mission

  • Establish regional hubs within the network in support of collaboration and regionally focused funding.

  • Work with the Sustainability Manager to identify funding opportunities for partners and connect them with appropriate philanthropic contacts.

  • Produce regular reports on partner activities.

Qualifications

About You

We have identified what we think you'll need to know and have done, in order to do well in this role. You’ll have a background in managing partnerships, networks and building relationships. This experience may be in the media, government, climate or nonprofit sector.

  • At least 3 years successful partnerships management experience with media, media development, nonprofits, government or philanthropic funded projects.

  • Proven track record of building, monitoring, and maintaining productive partnerships.

  • Previous collaborative professional relationships with global news organisations and their decision makers.

  • Strict adherence to the highest level of professional and ethical standards.

  • Excited to explore and apply how partnerships and collaboration can shape innovation in the media ecosystem.

The Process
