Full Stack Engineer Intern

The Analytics Platform Product Area builds critical internal tools for the development cycle of Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers. The products cover data discovery, exploration, analysis, and visualization, while also setting a standard development environment for teams to collaborate and iterate on the models that drive what users listen to on Spotify. 


We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer Intern to join our team of hardworking engineers that share a common interest in the integration of different internal systems to improve the developer experience for Spotify engineers and scientists. You could be working with everything from client-side to the server-side development, and have a genuine impact on the team’s decisions while working in a friendly, informal, agile environment that supports each individual.



What you'll do

 
Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and designers to tackle exciting and challenging problems about how tooling should help DS and MLEs develop models.
 
Be a valued member of an autonomous, multi-functional agile team.
 
Learn and interact with our entire development stack: infrastructure, backend, and front-end components. 
 
Work with continuous improvement integration and testing, automating infrastructure operations and improvements in backstage console and its API. 



Who you are

 
You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or a Bootcamp certification in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field of study.
 
You have a graduation date in 2024.
 
You have dabbled in frontend and backend development via prior internships, coursework, and/or projects.
 
You have experience in designing and developing components using Java, Python, or TypeScript.
 
You have experience working with Kubernetes clusters.
 
You have experience monitoring the health of components using tools like Grafana.
 
You have an understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
 
You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high-quality code.

Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location. Preferably in New York.

Our paid summer internships last for 10-13 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is March 27th, 2023 at 10AM EST. 


The United States hourly rate for this position is 33.00 USD (Undergraduate First Year & Sophomores), 42.00 USD (Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors), 49.00 USD (Masters) & 58.00 USD (PhD) per hour plus a one time intern stipend of 2,253 USD. This position is overtime eligible. These rates may be modified in the future.
