JOB SUMMARY
The Global Category Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager Strategy will report into the Executive Director Center of Excellence - Enabling Capabilities within Global Procurement.The role will own the strategic category management process and utilize the process to create3-5-yearcategory strategies. The Senior Manager will be accountable to understand business strategy and then develop a comprehensive, long term, category strategyin collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.They will also be accountable for providing detailed analytical insights and fact base to support the strategy.The Sr. Manager willusean agileCategory Management approach to develop strategies to identify breakthroughvalueopportunities.
Strategic Contribution
Partners with internal and external stakeholderstounderstand business strategy and translates internal and external market data to formulateastrategic plan to deliver year on year Productivity
Acts as a trusted business advisor providing category management expertise whilst developing category strategies
Leads and influences stakeholder groups with sound and articulate business case recommendations (i.e., build vs buy strategy) with quantifiable financial benefits
Serves as team expert on the Category Management process andcaneffectively utilize the tools and associated outputs to drive comprehensive, long term category strategy development
Deep divedataanalytics to develop insightsaddressing current/future business needs
Delivering Value for Customers
Owns the category management process and theframe-workand set of practices used to optimally manage supply categories to meet business objectives
Owns the entire data collection and data lifecycle process, ensuring consistency, scrubbing, cleaning and quality of the data to ensure accuracy to support category strategy development
Understanding of the Agile methodology and ability to apply it to the Category Management process
Developing Category Strategies
Proven abilityto utilize a fact-basedcategory managementprocess to develop multi-year category strategies, including internal business requirements and external market forces
Able to buildanalyticalmodels to evaluate the potential value of category scenarios / options / recommendations
Brings and grows internal function-specific fact-base and proactively identifies opportunities for Productivity
Change Management
Ability to constructively challenge executive leadership; and ability to develop and evaluate strategic options, including risks and risk mitigation strategies
Compelling and persuasive communicator (oral and written) with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Ability to influence team members in a matrix organization, across geographies, including individuals with no direct reporting line
Analytical & Technical
Proven technical knowledge and business ability related to a broad base of spend categories within the Biotech industry
Ability to develop and model multiple business cases to demonstrate the potential opportunities and impact of options across a category
Proficiency in MS Office tools (PowerPointand excel), analytical tools, ERP systems etc.
CPM qualification (US) orCIPS qualification (UK) is desirable
Experienced with Agile methodology
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Sourcing plus any combination of Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Procurement

Masters degree and 4 years of Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Procurement
OR
Bachelors degree and 6 years of Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Procurement
OR
Associatesdegree and 10 years of Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Procurement
OR
High school diploma / GED and Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Procurement

Strong executive communicator with the ability to create and communicate complex business cases in asimple and effective manner

Solid understanding ofprocurement/sourcing/categorymanagement methodology and able to drive value for customers leveraging the right sourcing levers
Excellent and disciplined project management and prioritization skills with ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
