We’re looking for a passionate and driven Senior Product Operations & Strategy Manager to join our team and operationalize the success of our Product Roadmap. 

As a Senior Product Operations & Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing operational solutions that improve the efficiency of our product development processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish systems and processes that streamline execution, prioritize product feedback from internal teams and customer data sources, and inform product decisions and roadmap changes. You will play a key role in improving alignment and collaboration among design, engineering, data, and other key stakeholders to ensure superior customer experiences.

We are looking for an individual who is a creative problem solver and a change agent. If you are someone who views roadblocks or tough organizational issues as opportunities and drives resolutions, you will thrive in this role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage the development process with a hands-on approach. They will also understand that business acumen helps make our products stronger, and they can work across many teams to align each team’s goals with our overall product strategy. Thus, they will analyze data and use it to make informed decisions about product strategy, resource allocation, and optimization. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing ongoing roadmap prioritization and trade-off processes, establishing a process for voice of the customer inputs, product roadmap requests, and reporting related product organization KPIs and metrics.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Identify and implement solutions to operational inefficiencies across product management-related development processes

  • Proactively track market trends, competitive landscape, and industry regulations to inform product strategies and operations

  • Proactively identify organizational/operational opportunities and risks based on both internal and external signals

  • Establish systems and processes that speed up execution efficiencies

  • Work closely with product and executive leadership to help develop product strategy and roadmap, considering market trends, customer needs, and business objectives

  • Work closely with product managers to provide operational support, including tracking and reporting on product development progress, managing resource allocation, and coordinating product-related initiatives

  • Manage the prioritization of the product roadmap and calibration approach for trade-off processes.

  • Establish, drive, and promote processes that integrate customer feedback, requests from sales, and input from internal stakeholders.

  • Implement, manage, and promote visibility of the product feedback process.

  • Report on product KPIs and metrics related to product organization and roadmap planning.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define operational requirements for new needs as the company expands.

  • Own related communications and effectively set the standard for communication excellence with team members.

  • Take a hands-on approach to managing the product development process, identify high-leverage tactics, and act as a force multiplier across many teams.

  • Drive resolutions to roadblocks and tough organizational issues

 

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, product operations, or a related field

  • Self-starter, accustomed to working in a changing environment, with experience working in high-growth organizations preferred

  • Experience in managing a team of product managers or product operations specialists

  • Experience working with executives, general managers and/or related business units

  • Experience around prioritization and continuous optimization. You can discern the urgency and importance of work.

  • Strong understanding of the product development process, including ideation, discovery, design, development, testing, and launch - You can clearly communicate process and program impact, benefits, and changes to stakeholders to improve knowledge, change attitudes and behaviors and improve the working conditions and quality of life for affected teams.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering products on time, within budget, and with both customer-centricity and with high quality

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, data, marketing, sales, and customer support

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions

  • Curiosity to dive into data and systems using SQL to understand trends and troubleshoot issues

  • Experience with agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, and the ability to implement them effectively with a variety of tools (i.e JIRA)

  • Experience in developing and implementing product strategies that align with the company's overall business goals

  • Knowledge of and curiosity for industry trends and best practices in product management and product operations

  • Thinks holistically to find opportunities to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries.

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $128,000 – $233,300.

If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is:  $145,500 – $233,300 : New York City $136,900– $205,300 : Nassau, Newburgh $128,000 – $192,700 : Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse
