Job Description
Nearpod is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Temporary Curriculum Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and editing lessons across subjects and grades (K-12 with a focus on K-5) with a focus on grade-level appropriateness, standards alignment, and learning experience design. They will ensure that all content is fact-checked, appropriate for classroom use, and inclusive of all learners. The ideal candidate is an independent worker who can manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high volume of deliverables on deadline.
What Our Ideal Candidate Will Do:
Create, edit, and review lessons and activities across all subject areas and grade levels (K-12) with an emphasis on K-5.
Ensure that all lessons align with state and national standards
Create content that is inclusive of all learners
Fact check all content to ensure accuracy
Ensure that all content is appropriate for the classroom, paying special attention to reading level and accessibility as well as tone and sensitivity issues
Identify when to elevate questions and ask for an extra set of eyes
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field
Classroom experience in K-5
Deep knowledge of instructional design principles and practices
Experience creating K-5 lessons that are aligned to standards and that can be used to engage students in a range of classroom settings
(Preferred) Deep expertise with state and national standards and experience creating alignments
(Preferred) Experience with early elementary (K-2)
Tech skills:
Experience using educational technology tools in creative ways
Experience using spreadsheets and the Google suite of tools (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets)
Content Creation Skills:
Excellent writing skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of instructional design principles and practices
Ability to create content that is inclusive of all learners
Self-management and team skills:
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
