The Director of Product, EMS (Enrollment Management System) drives vision and execution of Finalsite’s admissions, enrollment and billing solution, drawing from domain knowledge and emerging industry trends to inform product strategy and decisions. The DoP is responsible for overseeing and communicating the EMS, billing and payments product line roadmap to the company, conveying the what, the why and the value proposition. The DoP leads product managers and day-to-day product management processes using the Shape Up methodology. 

The DoP is a champion of the product line who works closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure goals are aligned. The DoP also works with Support and Professional Services to identify opportunities to increase client satisfaction and product adoption. The DoP may also manage vendor relationships, and work with the architecture team to control costs for third-party services being leveraged to power the software.

LOCATION

100% Remote - Anywhere within the US or UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owns and oversees the product line roadmap, working closely with product managers and the software engineering manager to ensure successful, on-time delivery

  • Collaborates with stakeholders across the company, representing product in monthly product line meetings, to ensure successful execution on product line goals

  • Actively guides and mentors product managers, helping grow their skills, and knowledge, ensuring they understand the company’s wider product vision and strategy

  • Oversees day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of Product Managers, including team shapings, cycle/cooldown task management, weekly 1:1 meetings and bi-annual reviews.

  • Owns usage of Pendo for the product line with the goal of driving product adoption and better understanding usage patterns.

  • Oversees response to client ideas portal and bug triage for product line to ensure a timely, consistent response.

  • Actively seeks opportunity to improve processes both within the team and across other teams at the company

  • Participate in activities related to hiring and onboarding of new Product Managers

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A passion for identifying problems and providing solutions with software with the ability to tie these to company financial goals

  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to influence and inspire others

  • Confidence in making decisions and the ability to justify those decisions

  • Ability to manage and mentor product managers and UI/UX designers

  • Detail-oriented with ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly

  • Ability to utilize user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions

  • Experience in creating and delivering in-person and online presentations to clients

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with 4+ years of product management experience Exceptional candidates will have

    • Experience leading projects and teams

    • Experience generating outstanding results as a product leader in a SaaS environment

    • Professional experience with K-12 admissions, enrollment and business processes.
