Communications Manager III

We’re experiencing rapid growth, and looking for a self-motivated and experienced Communications Manager to join our team and help tell our story.

As Communications Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications for ExtraHop, ensuring our message is consistent and engaging. You will manage day-to-day public relations activities, engaging with our PR agencies and the press, and also support internal communications to activate and engage our 700+ employees around the globe.

The Communications Manager will report into the Director of PR and Social. 
What you’ll do:

 
Activate on annual and quarterly communications plans. 
 
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the company to make communications recommendations that reflect a holistic understanding of the business and ensure tight alignment of messages and narratives.
 
Develop strategic communications plans for campaigns.
 
Draft media plans, alerts, pitches, and press releases.
 
Plan and support annual PR editorial calendars and thought leadership initiatives
 
Review content drafted by spokespeople and PR agencies to ensure alignment with eky messaging. 
 
Create internal communications initiatives and plans that will foster employee engagement.
 
Develop award and speaking opportunity submissions.
 
Develop/review proactive pitches, interact with media contacts.
 
Engage with external PR agencies to help drive toward goals, including acting as liaison for rapid response opportunities.
 
Stay current on company, industry, competitors, and news trends to best organize and present company content.
 
Perform other related duties, as assigned.

We’re looking for someone with:

 
Education: BA or BS in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and/or equivalent experience
 
Experience: 5+ years experience in a media relations, corporate communications, or similar role, in the cybersecurity industry (*Agency experience is a plus)
 
Strong presence and ability to confidently interface with executives
 
Compelling writing and copy-editing skills
 
Experience in corporate storytelling, and corporate narratives
 
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
 
Stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate and advise cross-departments
 
A demonstrated passion for the cybersecurity industry
 
Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced working environment
 
Capable of working well as part of a team and independently
