We are looking for a C++ Engineer to Join the Band this summer. You will be working between the Player Restriction and Player Resumption squads on some of Spotify’s highly interesting and innovative features. Working with both teams allows you to work over the entire Spotify ecosystem, from Music to Podcasts to Audiobooks. You will get a chance to help build some cool new features to help further push Spotify as the leader in its industry. 

What you'll do

  • Complete tasks which require architectural code changes in Spotify ecosystem

  • Partner and collaborate with Senior Engineers and learn new design and coding patterns

  • Work on an independent project throughout the internship to build your knowledge of the tools and ways of working at Spotify

  • Track and resolve incoming bug tickets

  • Be a valued member of the Spotify-wide Engineering community affecting and driving our architecture across the company

Who you are

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science and have a graduation date in 2024

  • You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023

  • You have a keen interest in C++, bonus if also interested in Java

  • You have a basic understanding of Memory allocation (on the Heap vs. Stack)

  • You are interested in testing and the purpose of unit and integration testing

  • You enjoy collaborating with peers and doing pair programming on tasks

Where you'll be

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!

  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the EMEA region in which we have a work location and is within working hours.

  • Working hours? We operate within the Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone.

Our paid summer internships last for 10-13 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is March 7th, 2023 at 12 PM CET.
