Netflix is looking for an experienced QA Test Lead to join the Netflix Game Studio, Spry Fox, in delivering the next generation of video games to a worldwide audience. This role will report centrally to Netflix QA but will be fully embedded in Spry Fox and act as a member of that team, driving the highest-quality testing standards of our new games on our world-class platform.
Your hands-on approach and innovative technical proficiency will have a significant impact on the oversight of multiple titles, and in leading the QA effort for their releases. This role requires exceptional testing expertise, project management skills, and deep understanding across a diverse consumer device universe with a specific focus on Android and iOS.
With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a real passion for a positive user experience; the ideal candidate will work as an integrated member of a cross-functional team, participating in the design and execution of QA strategies and methods.
This position requires a hands-on ability to test and a deep skillset in leading QA Vendor partnerships with responsibility for ensuring all Spry Fox-developed titles published on the Netflix platform meet and uphold Netflix quality standards. If the team grows, this role will be responsible for hiring and leading senior test professionals, however, the successful candidate will not be afraid of the hands-on work required and is comfortable with holistic ownership of QA while operating with lots of responsibility and little structure. They will ultimately be responsible for building Spry Fox QA from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Build and lead the QA capability for Spry Fox Game Studio, with a hands-on test approach, overseeing all title quality and building the structure as they go
Lead vendor partnerships to support the QA effort for all development, managing performance, and quality, while maintaining reasonable costs
Optimize the performance of projects using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
Long-term resource planning and the ability to execute against those plans
Evaluate testing efforts, and vendor quality, implementing changes as necessary
Proven ability to drive QA success via integrated cross-functional teams involving deep collaboration with engineering, design, and production partners
Develop QA frameworks that empower internal/external teams to be held accountable for upholding quality and player impact as an essential factor in decision-making
Conduct requirements gathering, and risk identification; reporting on all associated risks
Drive all test development activities; estimation, planning, execution, reporting, closure
If the need arises, hire, coach, and lead senior test professionals
Requirements
Passion for games with a commitment to quality
8+ years of game industry experience in QA
Minimum 2 years of experience leading QA professionals
Hands-on holistic QA ownership, with the capability to build from little to no existing structure
iOS and Android testing experience
Demonstrated experience in test planning for complex features/systems
Flexible and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
(Optional but a big plus) Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
$50,000 - $250,000 a year
Location: Remote, preference on North/Central/South America-based, with the ability to work core hours of 10am - 2pm PT
